Display Map

Editroid allows you to create a map showing all of the screens of any rectangular portion of the map. Under the (Special Tools) menu, select "View Map." You will be given a number of options when viewing the map.

  • Filter - You can filter out screens to only display one level by selecting a level.
  • Fill Empty Spots - Checking this will cause any inactive screens to be filled in solid.
  • Show Physics - Check this to reveal secrets.
  • Show Enemies - Check this to display enemies (can not be combined with Show Physics).
  • High Quality - Checking this will result in a better looking map, but will take slightly longer to create.
  • Scale - Selects the size of the map. Choose 1/1 for full size, 1/2 for half size, etc..

Once you have selected your options, drag a rectangle over the area you would like to see a map for. You can also select a scale for the map. (A map of a large portion of the game at 100% scale would be extremely large). As you change the scale and select an area on the map, the amount of memory the map will consume appears at the top of the window. This is important because very large maps can consume excessive amounts of memory.

Once you are done, click "OK." The map creation progress will be displayed and when the map is complete it will be displayed. Click the "Save" button to save the image to a file.
